Stealth

Starring Jamie Foxx, Jessica Biel, and Josh Lucas.
Directed by Rob Cohen

In the not too distant future, an elite squad of jet fighters try to cope with a new member in the form of an A.I. controlled advance jet plane. Things start to go wrong once the jet gets hit with lightning and goes rogue targeting a place where thousands of innocent lives resides. It is up to the squat to try and stop the machine.

The Good: The mapping sequence, if there is one thing I like about the movie it is how they showed the maps, if only they can use it for world geography. Eye Candy action sequences. The surprise change of plot to a sort of rescue misson.

The Bad: Not much eye candy involved especially for a film that revolves around aerial combat. Lack of acting can also account for the lackluster action sequences, I mean you have something like Top Gun which was driven by emotions expressed by the actors which help add tension to the action involved for dog fighting. Stealth did not really show this. The change of the story to focus more on the rescue mission did not go the way I was hoping it would go.

Movie Recipe: “Top Gun” meets “Terminator” meets “Behind Enemy Lines” but in a bad way.

The Verdict: I’d give 1 out of 5 stars, sorry but an action movie that lacked action is definitely bad. The sudden change to a sort of “Behind Enemy Lines” plot didn’t sway me. They could probably use the graphics involved for their mapping sequences with the current education system rather than wasting it in this movie.
