Hey MMDA! Girls need to pee too!

June 22, 2005

Cruising along Edsa, pardon me CRAWLING along Edsa you’ll probably see those mini sheds for urinating or a cheaper answer to the portalet but have you been in one or actually taken a closer look?

Crazy weird ain’t it? You can actually see the feet of those using it. Anyways, my main concern here is that it was built only with males in mind. What’s up with that? Guys can’t hold it in as long as the girls? Why can’t they just built actual portalets. Someone might steal it ba?

Let’s just go with the fact that our society consider men as perverts and the women are not willing to use such public utilities even if nature screamed at you. Not much women driver? I don’t know the exact figure but a lot of women do drive and walk by those pink little sheds. Great that one little pink shed can show how our society treats gender issues. We should start rethinking our strategies on this and not place a glass ceiling that should not be there anymore. Equal rights baby!!!

I really don't think it's a gender issue. I think it's more financial than anything else. Constructing those pink urinals must have cost a heck of a lot cheaper than having to build facilities for women who have uh…more complicated instruments. What I want to know is whether this is a result of true budgetary constraint or a desire to fatten someone's pocket.

Girls doesnt use that "pink urinal" coz you dont see them pee just about anywhere. Whether it's a wall or a tree, you'll see a guy facing that wall peeing. You say equal rights? well, thats the MMDA giving in to the men who can just pee anywhere. Girls are too picky in places where they can pee on. So just in case you'll run or be part of MMDA, create one for girls too.
